Family session at the museum – Ottawa family photographer

Often, clients wonder where to have their portraits sessions during the winter months.  As a Canadian photographer I quickly adapted my market and continued shooting during the frigid months.

Being an on-location photographer I recommend to my clients to have their portrait sessions either in their homes, at a local museum or outdoors.  Depending on your family, various or multiple options are necessary.

Museums are a great venue for shooting portraits.  They provide ample space, (usually) good lighting, great architecture for backgrounds and more importantly…keep your kids entertained!  It’s a great way to capture candids of the entire family, especially of your kids because they are usually too busy to focus on the photographer.

This family session was shot at the museum of Civilization in Gatineau, QC.  The grand Hall area of the museum is gorgeous and provides ample natural light for soft backlight shots!  It is definitely one of my favorite places to shoot for both indoor and outdoor portraits!
